Today, the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Florida, which represents 2,500 businesses in Florida and an estimated 50,000 employees statewide, announced their endorsement of Matt Caldwell in his bid for Commissioner of Agriculture.
Caldwell said, “I am proud to receive the support of ABC Florida, a true champion of conservative values and free market principles. This exceptional group of individuals have fought to ensure that government does not get in the way of business in Florida and I too will continue fighting for economic prosperity in our great state.”
Mary Tappouni, President of ABC Florida said, “We are thrilled to announce that we are endorsing Matt Caldwell for Commissioner of Agriculture. Matt is a principled conservative who will fight to ensure that every Florida resident and business has the opportunity to succeed in the Sunshine State and grow our economy.”
The endorsement follows the unanimous support of Republican House members from South Florida, the Panhandle, Southwest Florida, and Northeast Florida delegations, as well as constitutional officers from across the state. Since launching his bid for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, Representative Caldwell continues to travel the Sunshine State talking to voters, sharing his conservative message and building support for his grassroots campaign, which has raised $1.37 million to date and amassed nearly one million dollars cash-on-hand.
The Commissioner of Agriculture serves as a member of the Florida Cabinet and is critical to the foundation of Florida’s economy. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services helps the agricultural industry with its daily challenges, promotes Florida’s agricultural commodities, manages state forests, safeguards consumers, implements the school lunch program, and oversees the concealed-weapon license system. The campaign continues to travel across the Sunshine State as a part of Caldwell’s statewide #2LaneTravels Work Days Tour that highlights and showcases industries overseen as Commissioner of Agriculture.
