TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Representative Matt Caldwell received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) and Unified Sportsmen of Florida in his bid for Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Marion P. Hammer, NRA Past President and Executive Director of Unified Sportsmen of Florida said, “Representative Matt Caldwell has been a steadfast supporter of Second Amendment issues as a member of the Florida House. His support of Second Amendment, self-defense, and anti-crime issues and his pro-sportsmen, pro-Second Amendment, pro-freedom record have earned him our endorsement.
He is the only candidate in this race with a perfect record of unyielding support of the Second Amendment to our Constitution. His background of active, dedicated legislative service to advancing the cause of Freedom and protecting Second Amendment rights has been outstanding. That’s why we trust you to administer Florida’s Concealed Weapons and Firearms Licensing Program. We urge all Second Amendment supporters to vote for Matt Caldwell for Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services.”
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation’s leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
Representative Caldwell said, “I’m proud to have received the endorsement of the NRA. Floridians can trust me to stand strong in defense of their constitutional freedoms. I am the only candidate to consistently have an A+ NRA rating and I am honored that they have placed their trust in me with a full endorsement. I am an unwavering defender of the 2nd Amendment because I believe what our Founders believed: our rights come from God, not politicians.”
The NRA’s endorsement joins the endorsements of Republican House & Senate members from every delegation in the State. This is in addition to endorsements from the Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA), Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida, U.S. Congressmen Matt Gaetz & Francis Rooney, and county, city, and local officeholders across the state.
Since launching his bid for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture in May 2017, Representative Caldwell has traveled over 70,000 miles across the Sunshine State talking to voters, sharing his conservative message and building support for his grassroots campaign. Caldwell’s campaign and Political Committee has raised nearly $2.2 million – leading in actual funds raised from supporters across the state.
